UDDI registry is updated by Web Services providers
- Service providers advertise services by registering its WSDL
Registry can be:
- Private
- Listing just services for internal use
- Public UDDI
- Listing services that are accessible to all
Limited number of “well known” public UDDI registries on the Internet
- Point to other registries
- Similar to DNS today
Notes:
The UDDI registry is updated by the Web Services providers. Whenever a service provider comes online it can contact a UDDI to advertise its services by registering its WSDL.
A UDDI registry can be private to a company, listing just services for internal use or we can also have public UDDI registries listing services that are accessible to all over the Internet.
There will a limited number of “well known” public UDDI registries on the Internet and these will point to other registries in a way similar to how DNS works today.
