Introduction to SkillBuilders Oracle Database Manager (SBODM)

Learn about the many powerful features in SkillBuilders’ Oracle Database Manager – and how easy they are to use.

SBODM is a free, open-source, lightweight and easy-to-use database management tool for Oracle Database. It is free, written in Oracle APEX and manages a single database – the database on which it is installed. It’s very useful as a complement to SQL Developer (in the webinar we will compare features), or, for Standard Edition Oracle customers, as the primary replacement for Oracle Enterprise Manager. It’s also an essential tool for Oracle Database Embedded license customers where no management tool is provided.

Although SBODM can manage only a single database – the database on which it is installed – there are many useful applications. For example, SBODM is great for:
– Standard Edition customers who need more features than available with SQL Developer or Oracle EM Express
– EM Express (aka DB Express) users who do not want to rely on Adobe Flash Player, which has been sunsetted.
– Enterprise Edition customers who don’t require the complexity or overhead of Oracle Enterprise Manager
– Oracle Express Edition (XE) users who need more functionality that provided with SQL Developer or EM Express Edition
– ISV’s shipping Oracle Database under an “embedded license” who want to include a free management tool
